Title: Deposits

I would like to see my daily bank deposits listed by total rather than each individual check. This isuue >: especially when it comes time to reconcile the bank statement.

That would be nice.

However, one way around it is to use an easy to remember code for each deposit (I use the date), and then Tag Group in Reconcile, using the deposit number. It really works pretty well most of the time.

Another way is to set up a bank account in DBA called Undeposited funds and make all the detailed AR payments to that account.  Then use GL-K to transfer the funds to the operating account.  This way, even payments received across multiple days can be combined if you don't go to the bank every day.  The customer record shows paid the day the check is received yet the checking account register has a single entry for the total deposit on the correct date.

I should clarify - the date code I use as the deposit number corresponds to the date of the deposit. So when the statement shows a deposit on 3/24 if you tag the group 324 you should get them all, regardless of what date you selected as the payment receipt date.

However, I'd love to use that method for my credit card payments. The problem is that Cash Transactions automatically get posted to Bank Account 1. Is it feasable to change the Bank Account numbers?

Then I could use that method to both transfer regular deposits  and credit card ones, because the Default account in AR-C would also be the Undeposited Funds one.

Change your Cash Terms to A instead of C in the terms table.  Then it will ASK (that's what the "A" stands for) which bank account.

Cool. That may work well. I'll have to try it out.

Thanks!
