A few years ago DBA changed the way look-ups worked in IN-A. You can type a partial number in the item number screen, hit the lookup button or f2 and you are brought immediately to the closest match in the lookup list, with out having to select a search key and retype the number in sloooowly so the system could keep up with you. This is a great feature and they promised all lookups in the future would work like this. It never happened. Any chance this can happen?

Another very inexpensive program (Peachtree) has all their lookups that way, a partial number then F2 puts you to the closest item. No need to select the key that it is searching on-usually the code, however, when you don't have a clue on the code, but know the name, you can type that in and hit ALT-F2 for the lookup. Very, very simple.

This week's update (6/13) will have that lookup feature added to PO-A, SO-A, WO-A and most of the Inventory Module programs. Will continue to add it to other programs that look up inventory.

I love the new "Quick lookup" feature in the last update.
One more place where it would be real handy is the Routings entry screen.

Lynn,

In the "more to come" I would love to see that same lookup in IN-L-N copy items. I use this several times each day to set up new jobs from templates. I'm so used to using the new lookups in the other inventory programs, I am always 4 or five keystrokes into that old style look up before I realize I'm going nowhere.

And if you do get into fixing that program, how about adding a check box to "Copy Links"

We often have a tabulated drawing that pertains to a whole family of parts. That would be handy!

And, add LPN capability...
