One of my employees checks has an "a" just to the right of the numerical check amount.

We're using the customized RTM that has the Pay Rate on it, and answering "Yes" to print pay rate, as if that has something to do with it.

I don't suppose it hurts anything, it's just kind of strange.

Hey Dave, just had someone bring me a payroll check. It had a square box and a : next to the pay amount. It is the only check that had it. It was also the first check to be printed on that payroll. I'll have to wait for the bank statement to check previous ones.

Lynn,
Ran the weekly payroll. The "odd" characters continue to appear on some of the checks. This time it was the first and the last check. (Could have been a problem on the last check before, but just didn't catch it)

The odd character is right after the numerically written amount of the check. The first check had a square box with a colon after it. The last check had a square box with a 3 after it.

Need to see what is causing this problem, since we need to rerun checks-especially if they have extra numbers popping up in them.

Karen & Dave - are you both using Evo to print checks? I think you two are the only ones that I sent the PR-D patch to that fixed the Evo error - nobody else is using Evo and Payroll. I will look and see if the "fix" managed to cause this other print problem.

Tried Courier New-Did not resolve the problem, it actually cut part of the date off also. Printed OK to screen but when checks printed, the last character on the date did not print.

Got the funky characters next to the pay amount-same problem we've been having.

Just out of curiosity - do you still get the funky character if you print the checks with the TP5WDBA instead of Evo?

I changed the font to Courier New. Still get the "a", and now a little square box between the last penny and the "a".

Tried from TP5WDBA, got a whole bunch of error messages (maybe because I modifed the form with the Tas6 editor?) but eventually got past them, and no extraneous characters.

Any headway on this problem? We go through a lot of reprinting and screen printing to get a "good" paycheck to give to an employee.

Continues to be an off & on problem here. We always print p/r to screen. If okay, then we print checks. Sometimes we have to print checks one at a time in order to clear the problem. A real pain in the $@@ (neck).

It has always been consistent for us, except now it's changed to a different employee. We have added another person to payroll....

I think you two may be the only people using both Evo and payroll. Sounds like a binary zero in the code siomeplace. Let me have the programmer take another look.

I have this problem too. Whether I run from TAS or from DBA.

I've chosen to ignore it. But it is odd. It usually only shows up on specfic employees and shows up every times.

It can also show up in AP from time to time, but is constant in payroll.
