Title: SO-E long tracking numbers Post by HB on 10/15/03 at 08:09:52 After entering the long tracking number, can that number be printed on any document? Also, where is the number stored in the database? We have developed a simple Access database query that inserts tracking, freightcost and shipping dates by accessing the UPS database and updating DBA. The problem is the lenght of the tracking number. right now we are appending it to the ship via field, but truncated. |
Title: Re: SO-E long tracking numbers Post by Forum Admin on 10/15/03 at 08:17:54 It is saved as a line of Sales Order Notes in the BKARDESC file and will print on the invoice and packing slip. When the invoice is posted, it is transferred to the Posted Invoice Notes file for that invoice and cleared from the open sales order Notes so it does not print on a subsequent shipment. |
Title: Re: SO-E long tracking numbers Post by kevind on 02/17/04 at 09:43:45 Lynn, How is this first line of the order comments flagged by the system to be cleared after invoicing?? Is it just the fact that it starts with the word TRACKING?? I would like to see a feature were we could flag any order header line to be a 'next invoice only' comment. This would be useful for using any comment line for 'per invoice' info like Credit Card Auth Numbers, warrenty info, special instructions, etc. Maybe a single prefix on the line, like -, >, or whatever. |
Title: Re: SO-E long tracking numbers Post by Lynn Pantic on 02/17/04 at 09:59:34 It is the word TRACKING thar flags it to be cleared. Could use similar logic for other "This Shipment Only" notes. Just need to agree on a character that people aren't likely to already be using. I have also had requests to be able to enter/edit Notes in SO-E, would probably do both these at the same time. |
Title: Re: SO-E long tracking numbers Post by kevind on 02/17/04 at 13:52:10 If we confined that special character to the first column only, it would further reduce an potential conflict. Maybe the | ( shifted \ ) would be a good choice. An * or - may be poor choices. |
