Title: frt averaged on per lb cost.
Post by Laura on 10/20/03 at 11:33:49

I buy 1000 lbs of material @ $1.00 lb  =  $1000.00
                     .              .               .                  The frt to get it here is $  200.00

So the actual inventory value is $1.20 per.  but mine is showing only 1.00.

What are some of the ways to get inventory value to reflect the frt  ??
We use POs, but don;t pay from PO invoices.      Also to use a frt % would not  be very accurate and I would have to be adjusting all the time.

How do most folks handle this ? ?

Thanks in advance,
Laura

Use the landed cost portion in the International module to assign freight to those items.

Thanks...I read the Help menu  and am wondering....
We use this part#  "  FRTonPO  " to itemize the freight on our Purchase Orders.

Since we are not using PO invoices, all our purchased items have a class of 1000 which has no GL acct.    My part# " FRTonPO" also has a class of 1000 w/no GL acct.

My questions are:
(1) Do I give my "  FRTOnPo  " part #  a new class?
(2) Would this new class have the same GL acct as the default in IM?
