Title: Work Order Raw Material Shortage Report
Post by AUV on 11/04/03 at 18:01:02

How can I get a true work order shortage report that shows only purchased parts and not sub assy shortages, and also calculates the item # shortage amount.  The one with DBA is worthless.

3 ways:

1) Ask Lynn to make it an enhancement
2) A Crystal report
3) An MS Access application (we could do this one for you if you wanted)

The latest IS Tech WO-L-F has most of what you want, would including a filter by component type to list only type R components get you wnat you want?

No this report list on hand, on so, allocated and on order
without regard to type of item, and then does not give a quantity short - ie what quantity am I short.  It also does not create one listing, but does each wo separately - so if I want one listing with all part numbers on it that are short, I have to export to excel and resort - everyday.  It's an ok report if you are looking at only one wo, but if you are trying to get an overall assessment of parts you are missing - it's an ugly and useless report.

Maybe IN-D would be a better starting point to use to come up with what you are looking for - it can be limited to only type R parts and shortages only.  We can look at adding additional filters but need to know what existing report is the best to start with.  Sounds like you are looking for aggregate component shortages rather than work order specific detail so maybe IN-D is a better place to start.
