Title: LABOR EFFICIENCY
Post by Karen Mason on 12/02/03 at 14:21:10

Working on labor efficiency reports.  Need to create or modify current reports generated in JC-G.  We bought the TAS6 Editor, but have not been able to create anything with it.

We need to include item number, sequence description, and would like the option to show the efficiencies in pieces instead of hours.  Would also like to be able to change the way the % is displayed, instead of +19% meaning 19% above 100%, I'd like to be able to display 119%.

Would also like to manage by exception, in other words, display only items that fall outside a given range of the %.

How can I accomplish things like this?

Thanks for any insight.

I would think this would need to be something handled at the code level as an ISTS enhancement as DBA does not currently support the KPI (Key Performance Indicator) methodology currently.

That is what exception management is really based on.

Ezijobz does this with User-defined KPIs and so do many other current packages. Additionally, numerous packages provide "triggers" that send a message through the software (and/or an email if you have MS Exchange) that notify your people of the need for attention to the exceptions. Aria represents the manufacturing solutions from Epicor Software (Vista for smaller shops and Vantage for larger and mixed-mode shops) and both of these packages do these things.

There are numerous others that do these things as well.

Lorne is correct, this is something that can easily be done within the program logic once the parameters are spelled out.  Karen, could you post something to the Update Suggestions thread giving more details so we can see what the general concensus is?
