Title: New default setting for Backflush in WO-I
Post by winginf on 12/15/03 at 13:08:48

??? I just installed your package this past weekend and this is Monday morning, and little problems are popping up.  The first is with the B setting in wo defaults for Backflush in Finished Production.  We finished an assembly which had no parts issued and were not pleased that there was no Y/N question to backflush, it was just done.  Then we looked at materials issued and DBA had issued 100% of some components, 200% of a few components and 16% of a component with a decimal amount.  What are we doing wrong?
Also, when printing a traveller with sequences with different routing numbers, the routing # has to be in line with the sequence or it doesn't work.  In our example, we have a sequence 5 routing #2, and sequence 10 with routing # 1.  When we print the routing, 5 prints on rounting#1 with 10 and routing #2 page is really #3 in our routing file.  Changing the sequence 5 to routing#1 and 10 to routing #2 fixes the problem.  We have a lot of wo's with this routing! Help!

If you want it to ask the question, you need to leave it at Y rather than B.  The B setting will always backflush.  It should, however, have issued exactly 100% of each component if nothing had been issued previously as it is supposed to backflush the balance of components needed to complete the assemblies completed.  Can you send me a screen print of the WO-A Materials screen showing the various percentages, I will try to treplicate the problem.

As for the traveler printing, what did it do before?  We had a number of users complain that the BOM components didn't print on the associated Routing # which is what we fixed but it has always been intended that the first group of sequences would be Routing #1, then the next group would be #2 and the change in Routing # would force a page break.

I am having trouble printing the screen to this reply
I was able to print screen and paste to a word document but when I try to paste that to this screen I don't see it.

To Lynn: I have e-mailed the material issue and I am going to e-mail you the word doc that has info regarding the traveler problem we are having.  When I insert the document here the tables don't behave and it's hard to read.  :)

Just installed the 12/31/03 update for testing. I, too see this problem. Has there been a fix, yet? I don't see anything in the documentation for any more recent update pertaining to this.

Not yet, still working on it.

OK, found a problem where the program was calculating the issue quantity (correctly) and then calculating it again incorrectly and using the second value.  Fixed and tested, the "B" setting is looking good now.  Will be in the next update, advance copies available.
