Hello all,

We are working on a report to show the number of line items in a bill of materials. Although this sounds easy, we are getting tripped up.

We are using a Running Total field to count the number of records. We are using grouping for each item's BOM.

If we put the RTotal field on the Group line, it always shows up as 0.

If we put the RTotal field on the Detail line, it doesn't reset, instead keeps counting up and up throughout the list of Items.

Ideas?

Try putting your Rtotal in the group footer.

I tried it and this is how I set it up:

Group by Parent;
Summarize by component with Count as the type of Summary;
Evaluate for each record;
Reset for each group
