How do we close sales orders that have been shipped, invoiced, and posted? We don't want to delete them and lose historical data but they remain on the open sales order reports.

Then just open the sales order in SO-A and go to the Sales Orders in question and when you save them it will ask if you want to close them.....say yes.

But the historical data is all saved in the invoice file so there is really no need to keep them around forever.
