I got to the last paragarph on the isntruction page, and have a MAJOR PROBLEM. I can't change to Default Company B. DBA just locks up. and I end up having to restart the computer. HELP...HELP...I can't get into my Sales Orders.

I may not have another company?

The instructions said:
To turn on the Sales Order Chnage tracking, before you can set the default in SD-Q, you will need to get all users out of DBA, change to the Default (B) company and go to UT-A, program UPDFILE. Choose the ISARCHG file and click Process to add the new file to the system.

I still can't change companies...but I did get into SO......I was impatient and did not let the conversion run.
BUT....If I can't change companies can ....Can I run DBA without doing SD-Q defaults and running ISARchg ?

WHY cant I change SD-Q on my everyday company?

Laura -

Easy answer - if you don't turn on the SO Change tracking in SD-Q then you don't need the file to be created so you can skip it.

In any event. since you have been paying IS Tech all this time to support our efforts, I will support your update and call you tomprrow to help with the upgrade. Email me direct if there is a special weekend or cell number to call you.

I am not supposed to do SD-Q until I have change to the default Company. (But I am unable to change to the default company.)
So (naughty girl) I went against the instructions and tried to do SD-Q without changing to Co. B. I can go into SD-Q and change settings on 2 of my XPPro machines. But when I tried to do it on an old 98 I got an error that said I had to change to the default company.
( I know that the setting are system wide. I was trying different machines to see if one might let me change companies.) I think that if I could change companies I could get the rest done fine.

Did you check in password security to make SURE you have security access to the company???

PS-A The column under startup Co is blank
PS-C The first column is blank (no company#)

I must have been using my default company for years.
I must not have another company. I got on DBA under a DOS beta version, had lots of screen freezes. Lynn adviced us to go to a real server. I must have messed up in 1997 and have been using that way since?
