I entered an order for a machine we build
the customer also ordered an extra set of rolls

I entered a type K item and listed all the rolls under it on its bom.

converted the order to Workorders using combine like items to a single workorder.

system ignored the type K items
MRP ignores Type K items on a sales order

Its always something

Are you referring to the K parent or the component lines under it? The parent won't have a requirement in MRP but its components should.
