Title: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by rlevasseur on 11/03/04 at 08:14:53 In a new installation, we have everything working okay, except that in the company "LP" we receive the following error when navigating in sales orders. WARNING ERROR A record was not found in fileloc for file - ISARCHG.BLP-4 I am running 2004.1 and istech updates 10/08/04. This error does not come on my laptop which was our main machine. I cannot locate the file on the new machine or on the laptop. Thanks |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by Cyndee Pappas on 11/03/04 at 08:46:34 Did you do this step (from the update instructions)? "If you have not already done so, to turn on the Sales Order Change tracking and/or on time delivery reporting, before you can set the default in SD-Q, you will need to get all users out of DBA, load the program using the Classic DBA menu (not Evo), change to the Default (B) company (if you are not already in that company) and go to UT-A, program UPDFILE. Choose the ISARCHG file and click Process to add the new file to the system. If you have Evolution, you then need to download the file and follow the instructions from www.istechsupport.com/datadict.asp." |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by sharon krewson on 11/03/04 at 08:48:40 I am so glad I am not the only one having trouble with this :) Rlevasseur - Go to the previous thread in this category or go to "latest update" at istechsupport.com for directions on how to turn this on. You need to run update file and then download the latest data dictionary files. Lynn - I went to download the data dictionary files but stopped when I noticed that the files in the download were much smaller with previous dates than what is currently in my DBAMFG folder. For example: download file: filedict.dbf 3/26/03 size 12,317 my DBAMFG folder: filedict.dbf 11/20/2003 size 218kb Does this matter? Will it update with a new date once it runs through all of the files? I know I am not nearly as educated about this stuff as I need to be. So, thanks for your help. |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by rlevasseur on 11/03/04 at 09:21:04 THANKS Cyndee and Sharon!! ;D that worked!! I new I was close to getting it and I know I read others were having a similar problem but I guess I had a brain cramp in locating it. Thanks again! Rick |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by Lynn Pantic on 11/03/04 at 19:13:53 Rick - glad it worked! Sharon - Yes, it will update to the new date and size as you go through the process. |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by sharon krewson on 11/09/04 at 06:01:50 Thanks again, Lynn. Everything went well and this feature is up and running with no problems. Our Sales Manager didn't think he would use it but now that he has it.... He likes it! Now I'm back to my original quest. I need to add the customer's dream date to a Crystal Report that we use every month. I went to add ISARHCHG.b (from File.ddf) to my report but it is not listed as available to pick. I know it's there and has data. Should I add it to my report in another way? Is anyone else using this file in a Crystal Report? Thanks |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by Lynn Pantic on 11/09/04 at 16:29:15 UT-A program ODBCDDF to rebuild the DDF in the company folder or UT-J to rebuild the main DDF files should work. |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by sharon krewson on 11/11/04 at 12:00:11 That worked. Thanks. Someday I will figure out what all of the utilities do and when I need to run them. |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by Karen Mason on 11/11/04 at 13:53:04 Is there a description of the various utilities and what they do? |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by aricon on 11/11/04 at 15:28:10 Karen, Yes, there is. It is a shared file between Lynn, Allen, a couple of the other programmers and some of us consultant types. The fact that it is a mental file mayyyyyy pose a slight problem for you though..... ;D |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by sharon krewson on 11/12/04 at 06:22:35 Lorne How much would it cost us to get it out of your head and onto paper? We are willing to buy that info. I am sure many DBA users are in the same situation as us. We are a small company and do not have a dedicated IT person on staff. It would be tremendously helpful to have a LOGICAL list (for Dummies I guess) of the utilities with the when's and how's about running them. I did go through the Help file but I found it vague. I guess I did learn through my recent quest to always update the data dictionary files and run the odbc utility after every update. That is now stored in my head! Thanks |
Title: Re: ISARCHG.BLP-4 Error Post by aricon on 11/12/04 at 08:49:10 Sharon, As much as I could always use extra revenue (gee, couldn't we all.... ;) ), the BEST person for this is the Lynnster as there are even a few that I haven't used (not many!). And in all honesty that is the kind of thing that Lynn is better at providing than I am. My company really is geared towards providing a more intensive consulting/implementation, training, and integration service. This means Project Management, Business Analysis, development, Best Practices, etc. |
