Hi Everyone,

We have an ongoing issue with Serial Control in SO-E. Our accounting person is releasing a sales order, or lines from a sales order, that have serial numbers. When the serial control screen comes up, she just starts entering the serial numbers from the lines she released, but often the lines aren't in the same order (she's going by the ACK when releasing, so she's assuming if she releases line 1, line 3 and line 5 the serial control will start first with line 1, then to line 3, then to line 5. But this does not always happen. So she's entered an incorrect serial number in some cases.
But she says she notices before she 's done, tries to backspace it out and enter the correct one, but always gets the error the serial number is already entered, and she can't get out of the screen to try to start over. She says she has to do the 3-finger salute to end DBA, then reboot her computer (we do not have MS turned on for her).

What's causing this, and is there something I can do to remedy the problem?

Only person that could help with this would be Lynn as it is a programming issue.

In my experience it is always better to use the lookup to pick each serial number from the available list when releasing a line. As for getting the wrong one one a given line, when we release with a wrong serial number, just unreleasing it in SO-A header screen "ready to invoice" ( and we scroll through the lines to make sure "release" is N) removes the connection between the line item and the serial number so you can re-release with the correct serial number.
