Title: Deleting/Removing a Class Code in CM
Post by gtladmin on 01/06/05 at 06:31:29

Our VP of Sales wants to know if we remove a class code from CM, how can we also remove any corresponding class codes listed in CM records?  I know we can delete the class code via SM-I-G, but that does not delete any codes already saved in a CM record.

Would we have to do a global field replace (to blank)?

Thanks,

Val

Yes - or use the $50 IS Tech Search & replace/delete utility.  File BKCMACCL.

Thanks Lynn for the response!

The util sounds like the option--if a class code field in a CM record has multiple codes in it, can we just get rid of the one code we no longer want and leave the others in place?

TIA,

Val

Val,

With the Search and Replace utility you CAN do this, although you would want to test it and perfect your selections on a test copy database of you live data and ensure the results are correct FIRST.

Yes, you can, in this case it is actually pretty straightforward because the file has a separate record for each class code assigned to a contact.
