We frequently issue a raw material to a work order- then unissue it and then reissue the same raw material- since we switched to IS Tech Support any time we do this the raw material shows as 0% on WO-A after the work order is entered into finish production. The three transactions show on IN-E and all three transactions are showing on JC-E.

Also this raw material will show as allocated to this work order after these three transactions take place until the work order is closed.

I believe this issue seems similar to one of the other work order topics on work order backflushing. We don't backflush our raw materials.

Granted this shouldn't happen and I will take a look but if you run WO-K-H and rebuild the WO does it fix it?

Lynn,
Running WO-K-H didn't correct it. Would saying no to recalculating the estimated costs under enter finish production and under closing the work order make a difference? It seemed to correct this problem today when we tried it.

WO-K-H and Recalculating the cost in WO-I or WO-J call the same program. Looks like that is where the problem may be. What version are you on? Modified date of BKREBWO.RUN to be specific.

That file shows as being modified 9/30/04. We are running DBA Version 2004.1 w/ IS Tech Support 12/14/04.

We have some errors in our WO-A materials screen and I have been looking into it. Here is what I have found:
It doesn't seem to matter whether it is an issue or backflush when the error is created. The inventory transaction records and the JC material issues report are correct. It is only the WOBOM record that is wrong.
THis is the scenario: on 2/4/05 there is a backflush by sequence of 7 of part A. On 2/5/05 there is a WO issue of 1. The WO-A screen ( and the WOBOM file, WOBOM.QTYISSUED field) shows an issue of 1 instead of 8. Naturally the percentage issued is off. This of course is affecting our mrp generation since it looks apparently at this file to figure out what is needed in open work orders.
I thought maybe there would be transactions in WO-O but ther are none.
Most of our backflushing is done in DBA Classic. Most of the issues are done in Evo. I can't seem to find a common thread in all of this. When I try to reproduce this using exact sequence of events it doesn't happen. Any thoughts on what is causing this? I have run a report in excel and filtered all of the records in WOBOM that have a strange percentage in the % issued field and then checked them out in WO-A. There are many errors dating back to September.
Materials Manager is upset because her mrp is off on some rather large ticket items.
ONe last thing- I would like to go into maintain database- WOBOM and change the records. The inventory and JC records look correct, but are there any other places I should check that use the WOBOM records before I change them?

This is the same problem that I was talking about a couple of months ago with swapping substitutes. Unless you go into WO-A and recalc the estimated costs there, there are no other alternatives. If several WO's are effected, this becomes time consuming. I had suggested a program similar the the current one that recalcs actual costs (WO-K-H) that recalcs estimated costs. Or, have the current program recalc both.

IN my case, recalculating cost, estimated or actual, won't fix the problem because the data in the WOBOM file is incorrect. My question is how did it get that way when other files ( INV transactions, JC materials issued)show the correct information?
