Title: Betrieve Error 35 Directory Error Post by podell on 02/02/05 at 06:26:27 We have just installed DBA again on our new server after a crash last week. We have upgraded to Windows server 2003 with XP workstations. OUr DBA seems to be working properly with a couple of exceptions. (using pervasive 8.0) The most scary one is that we are unable to use maintain database. It comes up with a betrieve error no matter what file or company you click on. We though it might be that we had to be logged on as administrator - but thats not it! Then we though maybe we had to do it directly on the server - Nope thats not it! Our path name to our DBA files should be W:\DBAMFG\01\The file name we are trying to access. The error message gives us this path W:\DBANFG01\The file name we are trying to access. As you can see the backslash is missing in the error message. Can anyone out there give us a hand in solving this problem. I used maintain database earlier this month to correct a couple of reversals of checks and when the DBA Tech support helped me they forgot to tell me to fix the A/R agings report to remove these two invoices that have been paid. My checking is correct but these two invoice still remain in the AR agings. I need to remove them. I thought about trying to trick DBA by doing a credit voucher but then that affects the sales reports. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! We saw a routine in Pervasive were you can rebuild betrieve files but we are not sure what this does???? |
Title: Re: Betrieve Error 35 Directory Error Post by aricon on 02/02/05 at 06:43:14 Did you run MDBFXREG from UT-A on the workstation you are trying to access MDB (Maintain DataBase) from? |
Title: Re: Betrieve Error 35 Directory Error Post by podell on 02/02/05 at 08:01:20 No, do we need to? |
Title: Re: Betrieve Error 35 Directory Error Post by aricon on 02/02/05 at 11:38:23 Yes. And then generate the data dictionary. You need to do this on ANY workstation that you want to have access to MDB. |

Title: Re: Betrieve Error 35 Directory Error Post by rstewart442 on 11/03/06 at 07:45:01 Hello all, I am having the same exact issue; however when I follow the steps and run MDBFXREG and then run ODBCDDF it does not fix the problem. Any ideas? My path is N:\DBAMFG\company subfolder\datafile. When I run ODBCDDF for the main company it pops up a path of N:\DBAMFG\ if I leave it or if I change it to N:\DBAMFG\COMPANY SUBFOLDER\ it still gives me the same error. ODBCDDF........is that the right program to recreate the data dictionary? Help |
