Title: WO-C printing bug in WO notes
Post by timgolds on 02/09/05 at 16:19:30

We were having a problem with printing notes in work orders.  on some all notes where printing on others they were not.

After some evaluation and testing I found the problem.  the ones that were not printing all the lines of the notes has a blank line in them.  The ones that were working didn't.  It's like when the form is printed, if it sees a blank line, it stops reading the notes.

Has anyone else seen this problem and if so have you found a fix?  Right now we are placing a period in the blank line so it will print.

You will find this in ANY of the notes screens. SO notes and such as well. It is apparently a TAS 5 thing.

We solved the problem by putting a character (in our case- ;) at the beginning of each blank line we wanted in the notes.

It is not an inherent TAS problem, it is just the way the programs were written - when they come to a blank line, they figure they are done.  Would be better to look at all the note lines and include any blank lines that are followed by lines with content.  Will add to the evergrowing list.

As Lynn mentions, it is a programming bug which has just been fixed (today).  The notes will be printed until the last non-blank line.
