Title: CODEBASE errors, multiple users
Post by GasGiant on 03/09/05 at 09:35:04

several of my Evo users have called me in the past hour or so complaining of CODEBASE errors received when opeing various menu items. One was trying to open IN-B, one BM-A and another RO-A. The only tie among these various features is that they are "Enter" whatever. I assume that the problem is related to changes that we made adding new users to the Evo Menu. Any tricks for clearing these errors so that people can do their jobs?

Secondarily, am I only supposed to make changes to the user menues when I have zero users? That would be a pain.

Can you get the exact wording on one of the errors?  The only Codebase factor is the data dictionary, the data files themselves are still Pervasive.

As for editing the menus, you can edit them when other users are logged in, but if you change a menu, the user will have to log out and log back in again to see the changes.

Yes, it looks like that was coincidence. We had the same problem again yesterday even though no menu edits had been performed. We had seven or eight users with Evo (old) open via Terminal Services and five or six using DBA. The Evo users all experienced codebase errors and were ejected from the program.

We captured the error messages that we received when trying to log in again and will post images after the IT department meeting this morning. Unfortunately, I was in a meeting when the crash occurred and my own session/crash screen was not available because my computer was at the BSOD :-(

[Made me wonder if Evo crashing was related to my computer crashing, since the problem cleared up on its own shortly after I rebooted.]

First error message---

after clearing that, this is next

As I said, first came the crash, then these messages were presented when attempting to log in again. The problem corrected itself after everyone evo session on the terminal server was cleared and after my computer, on which I use Evo locally, was rebooted.
