Title: New Forms Editor...
Post by penz on 03/15/05 at 05:31:17

Hi,
I installed the upgrade to EVO and everything work fine however i also installed the Forms Editor according to the instruction but I get an access violation error when I try to open it. Has anyone else experienced this problem or has anyone installed the editor successfully?

Thanks

Are you using an icon pointing to the TP7RUNTIME.EXE in the Forms folder to load the program to edit forms?

..I clicked on that but it doesn't load anything.

I'm really confused about the forms editor.
When I follow the steps above, I get an access violation message when I click on the menu item that calls the program reports.int.
I have the report editor that I purchased when we got Tas Evo, the shortcut is on my desktop and it calls a program  Taspro6.exe.  Am I calling a different program with Evo-ERP?  Was reports.int loaded when I updated to Evo-Erp?

I added the above reply to the wrong thread about forms editor.  But reading the above about tp7runtime.exe I am doubly confused.  Could I possibly get some Form Editor installation instructions for ( not just sorta) dummies?

..close EVO and reopen it by clicking on the TP7RUNTIME.EXE shortcut. The EVO program will load a normal but you will no longer get the access error when you select the report menu selection.

The shortcut on my desktop points to C:\ISTS\evoerp.exe C:\ISTS.  That path looks strange to me.  And when I go to my ISTS folder and click on Tp7runtime.exe I get the same message when opening the forms editor program reports.int-  access violation 00000000. read of address 00000000.  And what does all this have to do with the forms editor I have on my desktop pointing to M:\taspro6.exe?

OK, I figured it out.

You should have a folder called \FORMS or its equivilent, which will contain TP7RUNTIME.EXE and a bunch of other things (including the .dcy and .ini files mentioned in the instructions). Make a shortcut (on your desktop or whereever you want it) that points to TP7RUNTIME.EXE in the \FORMS folder. Don't try and run it yet, though!

After adding the REPORTS.INT to the TAS menu, exit EvoErp. THEN, with EvoErp CLOSED, run TP7RUNTIME.EXE using the shortcut you created. It will open what looks like EvoErp. It will mostly BE EvoErp, except that email won't work. Then you can go to the TAS menu where you put REPORTS.INT and the forms editor will open.

To get your regular EvoErp with email, after closing the froms editor, close EvoErp and start it with your normal EvoErp shortcut.

You will want to remove the sortcut that points to the old forms editor (TASPRO6.EXE)

I also discovered that once you open the Forms Editor you can close the non-email version of EvoERP and re-open regular EvoERP and the Forms Editor stays open and useable :)

I do not have a \Forms folder and the TP7runtime.exe is in my DBA folder on the server.  When I create a shortcut to it, add the report.int to my menu, close regular EvoErp and click on the shortcut and go to the forms editor menu selection, I still get the access violation message.  What now ???

The instructions for downloading the forms editor say to install to a separate C:\FORMS folder and point an icon to the TP7RUNTIME.EXE in that folder.  That is where you should be loading the program.

There are (unfortunately) at this time 2 versions of the TP7RUNTIME.EXE with different dates - one works for the forms editor and the other works for email.  I am working on getting one that works for both but for now you need to keep them in separate folders.
