Title: Menu File Corrupted
Post by trutax on 04/08/05 at 08:45:11

Hi,

I downloaded a new menu file in order to resume access to Evo-ERP. That worked. I then started in TAS-G to begin defining groups for users. After copying and then modifiying the defualt user I exited out and upon attempting to access Evo-ERP I rec'd the same error for which I needed to download a new menu file. I installed it (again) and now my custom user is gone.

Suggestions?

If you are setting up and using shortcut keys, there seems to be a problem with those.

Nope - just trying to set up the first of 15 users.

Lynne?

Are you using true Evo-ERP or the older TAS 6 Evolution?  What program is the TAS - G Menu item calling and what is hte modified date of that program?  There was an issue with menus getting corrupted but it has been corrected.  Need to make sure you are on the latest version.

I first installed Evo-ERP as of the 02/05 update. We did not install TAS 6 Evolution. I'm not sure what program the TAS-G module is calling - I'm still at the first step of trying to set up just one user. All I did was copy the default user, exit the program, and then upon accessing rec'd either the error "Cannot find group mofule number in list", or another one that the solution was to download a new menu file. That allowed me to get back into the program, but then the only user under TAS-G was the default. It's not like I didn't save the one I copied - in fact I just found out how to delete a user since copying is very easy. Something happened when I actually exited and then tried accessing Evo-ERP. My copied user was there when I was jumping around within the program before exiting.

I will email you the latest version of the TAS-G program to make sure you have it.

Lynn,

I just had this same phenomenon occur.

"Cannot find group module number in list"

Now I cannot log into EVO...I was modifying the menu when an error message appeared when I pressed the SAVE button indicating "ran out of temporary memory".  The only thing that I could do was press the exit button and when I logged back in the above message occured.

HELP!!!

Ouch. You're hosed. I have the same, recurring problem. I can edit any other profile but my own. I have to save a copy of all of the BKMENUSU files before I try any update to the menues, or else I lose everything (20+ users profiles) and have to start all over.

I really hope that the next version of this program is developed to fail more gracefully!

If you have a full backup of your files, not just the *.B you can copy The BKMENUSU.DBF, BKMENUSU.DBT AND BKMENUSU.MDX into your dbamfg folder. If not you have to start all over!!!

OK.

So I had a backup from 2 days ago and I copied over the menu files as suggested and it got us back to where we were.  I have now added an ADMIN user that I will never change so I can get back in and hopefully repair whatever damage was created.

Thanks for the help...

We just had the same problem, but only for one user when I tried to include a shortcut key for a new menu item. The message given when she tried to logon was:  error during creation of menu item "4","23", "A Accounting Configuration" [which the user did not have anyway]  :P  I am restoring the files and starting over.
