Title: Cancelling work orders
Post by kristinfitz on 05/03/05 at 11:38:16

I had a work order that we issued parts to and now need to cancel the work order. We first de-issued the parts, then cancelled the work order. Now, my on hand inventory is understated by these parts. If I were to do an adjustment putting them back in, then my RAW GL would be off.  Also, when I look at the inventory transactions I see two entries for cancelling the work order, one negative and one positive...How do I go about fixing this? And how should this be handled when we come across again in the future? Thanks.

It is my understanding that cancelling a work order will put all the parts back into stock.
When you de-issued the parts, did you do a negative issue or back out the issue using display material transactions?  That is the best way to back out issues so that you do not risk price variances.
