Title: DC-A units complete?
Post by penz on 05/25/05 at 08:22:09

Hi,
If I have 2 people working on a WO at the same time, when they clock out orfinish the WO should they both enter the same quantity completed?
Example: A WO for 2 units, both employees log in, both finish and log out, both enter 2 for quantity complete.
Is this correct?

Thanks

Jim P.

No each should enter qty=1. DBA is not quite clever enough to do the math and divide. If they each enter 2, 4 will show as completed and your per piece costs will go to hell in a handbasket.... :o

WO-F has a place to enter Number in Team so each employee could enter the 2 parts but then indicate a team of 2 and it would do the math properly but in Data Collection if employees are entering their own info, there is no place to enter that so I agree, they would be better off each entering 1 or (maybe better from a control aspect) if it is a work cell, designate one employee as the "closer" and that employee enters the total number of units completed by the team.

Being that Jim used the phrase "clock out" I assumed they are using DC, otherwise I would have indicated the same as Lynn.
