Title: Lead Times question Post by cmsk on 06/21/05 at 04:49:41 Hi there, Okay, I'm going to ask what may end up being an incredibly stupid / basic question, but I'm not finding details on this in the manual. What format are the Lead times in, in the MRP section? I.e., are they to be in minutes, hours, or days? Depending on the answer, I then have some follow up questions. :-) |

Title: Re: Lead Times question Post by cmsk on 06/21/05 at 05:25:34 That's kind of what I was figuring. So then, how does the system account for manufactured items and/or sub-assemblies that only take minutes to produce? Assuming I can run a bunch of a particular part in one day, is the lead time assumed to be one day regardless of the amount of parts that can be run? I know the routings has a field to enter actual runtimes, so I'm assuming that's where the specifics are entered. Thanks again... |
Title: Re: Lead Times question Post by Lynn Pantic on 06/21/05 at 06:41:23 Yes, the Inventory Lead time is an approximate lead time for one "Batch" of the item to be run so it is by definition an approximation based on some economic run quantity. Actual work order run times will vary by quantity run. |
