Title: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by MarkOlsen on 06/22/05 at 09:46:37 I have stumbled through the setups for E-Mailing (TAS-C & K several times). I have entered E-Mail addresses in CM and AR. I now can E-Mail Sales Acknowledgements and the sort. What I can not get to work is E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D). When I select the E-Mail button and press "Enter" for the forms window EVO-ERP just returns back to the MFG generic window!? I must need to be hit on the head with a hammer or something. What am I missing? Please help. |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by JNAPIER on 06/22/05 at 10:39:04 Any reason you don't use SO-P for quotes. Nice graphic .RTM Easy convert to SO. E-Mail works great. J |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by JEMM on 06/22/05 at 11:01:21 Click on the print button, then select email in the print options when the print dialog box appears. Mike |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by MarkOlsen on 06/22/05 at 11:07:18 Thanks for the answer. At first I did not know about SO-P. Then I tried it and when I did a lookup for a SO# there are no Sales Orders at all listed in the drop down list?!?! So the next question is how do I get the list populated? |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by Lynn Pantic on 06/22/05 at 11:31:05 Need to create a quote in SO-P-A, then print in SO-P-B |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by MarkOlsen on 06/22/05 at 12:33:20 OK, I see SO-P-B is when one uses SO-P-A to quote. We use ES-A to quote. It appears to be 2 different Quote Processes. Mike, when I click print and then E-Mail I do get a screen up to E-Mail. However, how do I populate the "To:" with Customer or Contact Manager customer names? I manually put my name in for a test and tried to E-Mail a valid quote to myself. I got the following message: "Warning Error The file: C\ISTS\ATTACH\E7897.PDF cannnot be found and will not be attached to this message." I did get the E-Mail but of course without the quote. Thank you so very much for your help! |

Well, I can't get it to open at all, but supposing you can, click on the "To" button, and then double-click the email address in the list that you want to use. If there is none there, or the one you want to use is not there, double-click a blank line and then manually enter it. At least, that's the way it works in the other modules.... |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by MarkOlsen on 06/23/05 at 06:34:12 Thank You David for responding. It does not seem to work that way either, however. E-Mailing was one of the biggie reasons we moved to EVO-ERP. My boss is not happy so far. Any help would reaaly be appreciated. I can E-Mail SO-B just fine. I get file not found on: SO-C SO-F ES-D When I try AR-E the screen returns to the generic SO screen and nothing happens!?! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again |

Well Mark, Try searching the forum for E-Mail related posts. I have responded to many. I guess I am lucky. All 11 of our EVO stations can E-Mail any and all RTM type reports. John |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by Lynn Pantic on 06/23/05 at 08:05:08 What update are you on? I am using the 6/20 and it is all working fine with the exception of a license renewal message in AR-E that I am getting ready to post a patch for. |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by tgoodson on 06/24/05 at 07:22:16 I had a problem with the email portion also in trying to send PO's. It seems to have to do with the NZEmail config file. I could not change any information on the setup at all. If I did, I got the same message you did. I had to copy back in the Default config file and then it worked. Try looking in the DBA folder. I do not know if this has been address by IST or not. I got tired of having to delete and recopy each time I checked. Hope this helps. Tommy |

Post by Karen Mason on 06/24/05 at 11:46:40 Mark wrote: "Warning Error The file: C\ISTS\ATTACH\E7897.PDF cannnot be found and will not be attached to this message." I did get the E-Mail but of course without the quote. I had this problem. Go to System Manager-TAS-K, Edit the path to: C:\ISTS\. (Delete the ATTACH\). After I changed that, the items attached properly. I am trying to use email to send purchase orders. I receive the "blind copy" but my test vendor did not receive their copy. I had to fax it. The fax address is correct, I use it all the time. Any ideas? |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by MarkOlsen on 06/27/05 at 08:50:06 Thanks to all of you who have responded to my dilema! Lynn, we are on update 2005.1 5/17/05. Benno did not want to update us for a while. Karen, I tried removing "ATTACH\" from TAS-K from the path. After that I could not e-mail acknowledgements (which I could before). I tried the other modules emails and they did not work either. So I put it back in and acknmnts worked again. John, I looked previously at the other areas in the forum. Some, I could not understand, others did not seem germain to my situation. But, I will go back and re-visit them again. Tommy, I am not sure what you mean by copying back the default file. NZEmail seems to change info for me all right. Here is what I have done todate: I looked in the ISTS\ATTACH folder and behold there was a PDF file of a dummy Sales Acknowledgement. There were no other files in there such as a dummy packing slips (same SO as the sales acknowledgement) file. So I renamed that dummy file to what NZEmail was looking for in trying to send a packing slip. It worked!! So I deleted the file all together and when I tried to e-mail the same dummy acknowledgement again. NZEmail could not find the dummy acknmt file. HMMMMM! So I undeleted the dummy acknmt file and renamed the file in ISTS\ATTACH to what PO-B, SO-C, & SO-F were looking for and the emails and attachments worked perfectly. ES-D, is another story, when I rename the PDF file to send a Customer Quote it worked except I got an error message BTRIEVE ERROR " K:\DBAMFG\DEFAULT\BKARCUST.B - 5". But I have to go to the print screen in order to email. The email button does not work in ES-D. So, I ask you wonderful people what does all of this mean? It seems to me somehow the PDF files are not getting sent (if they are being sent at all) to the ISTS\ATTACH folder. Sorry for the long reply! Does this make sense? Thanks, Mark Olsen |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by MarkOlsen on 06/28/05 at 02:26:17 OK, OK! I did as John mentioned I searched back in the email threads and tried Lynn's suggestion of deleting nzemail.cfg in ISTS. It now works!!!! With the exception of ES-D the email button does not work. However, the print screen email feature does! Thanks all for your help and forbearance. A humbled Mark Olsen |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by NovaZyg on 06/28/05 at 04:22:40 We are aware of the E-Mail button not working in some programs. They will soon be removed. The new standard is to print and select the Email option. Glad to hear you got it working. |
Title: Re: E-Mailing Customer Quotes (ES-D)!?!?! Post by JaySchmitendorf on 12/30/05 at 13:07:01 I found that you can change the signature part of the Email using E-Mail Setup to what you need. However, if you change the subject or body, mailing becomes a hit or miss deal. So, at our plant some personnel have a meaningful subject line and some don't. When it does not work, it always sends out the PDF not found error message. It puts the PDF in the installation directory, rather than the one specified. |
