Title: Contact Manager
Post by Lenette on 07/21/05 at 08:46:17

We recently started using the Contact Manager Module in DBA/EVO, which prompts the following questions/thoughts.

1.  Why can't you "close" a follow-up call?  Task complete!

2.  A/R & A/P Aging Reports allow for Follow-Up Notes, but not History Notes.  Why is this??  When I think of "follow-up", I think something someone needs to DO.  Yet, when I think of History Codes, I think of some kind of comment.  Examples:
History--- customer called and we negotiated terms from 30 days to 60 days for Inv. 1111.
Follow-up--- call customer on 09/01/05 to see if they want tickets to game.
In this case, the "to-do" doesn't mean anything to the collection dept, yet that fact that the Owner of the company renegotiated an invoices terms would.  Additionally, when making collection calls you might want to try back again before the next aging report is ran therefore having it print would be a moot point.

Would it be possible to amend aging reports to allow for history codes as well?

3.  In dealing with Follow-up's we've noticed that you can get a report of every Follow-up for every customer no matter which Rep recorded it.  But, if you were to go into an Account and try to see all the Follow-up codes the only ones that you can see are the ones entered by your own Rep code.  We can set up the Follow-up code with no Rep assigned - but then to get a report of all your Follow-ups you would have to run numerous reports

We are a small (12 employee w/ only 6 DBA users) company.  We do not have any outside sales employees nor do we have any need to "hide" information regarding customers and/or vendors from other employees.  Maybe creating an option to all for all employees to read all follow-up notes would be a way to resolve this.
