Title: Old SO's
Post by mreaves53 on 08/03/05 at 05:32:28

From Jan through April we have approximately 115 unclosed SO's.  Some have been invoiced and some have not.  What is the best way to close each type of SO?

Thanks  :)

If the orders were complete and invoiced they will be closed with a C next to the order #. SM-J-J will purge closed so's If you have open order with $ value, you can either Delete them or delete the remaining line items and save the order. When you save the order with 0$ it wii propmt to close it.

Part of the problem is that many of the orders are invoiced, but not closed.

If the order was invoiced and posted with 0$ left it should have closed. Go into the so that you want to close and see if has backordered items on it. If it has nothing left, when you save it it will prompt you to close it.

Prior to the last 1 or 2 updates....

If you selected the "Copy SO" button it would open the closed SO while copying.  IT USED TO MAKE ME CRAZY !!!!

But now... it doesn't happen anymore... so once you get them all closed you should be fine.

What happened here was that sales orders were invoiced and closed properly. Later, folks would go back in to look up something and then the order would be left open. If you think that might be happening, check out the new default settings on the sales screen of SD-Q. Also have your people use SO-T for lookups. This cut down a lot on record locks.

Using ISTS 02/22/05 update.
