Hi Folks,

Since upgrading the Evo-ERP, I have had several people report two problems related to printing, and I have been successful in duplicating the problems myself:

1) users get "out of memory" errors when printing.
2) the logo does not print on all pages when printing multiple copies of a document that is either an ack or a packing slip.

Item 1: We print multiple copies of acks (3). If when printing you click on the "setup" button in the Evo-ERP print window, you're taken to the Windows print window. Here if you change anything (select a different paper tray, turn off the collate option, set the # of copies to something other than 1), as soon as you click OK, you get the out of memory error. Most of the time, the job prints (about 80% I'd say). If you just use the Evo-ERP print window, things are fine and you don't see the error message. Only problem is we have to select a specific tray on the printer for colored paper when printing certain documents in DBA, so we have to be able to change these settings at the time of printing (and turn off collate).

Item 2: When you select to print multiple copies of an ack or a packing slip, you only get our logo image on the first printed page. Pages thereafter don't print the logo. I test printed other docs--RMAs, invoices, credit memos, POs, quotes, statements--all these printed the logo on multiple copies just fine.

Anybody have any ideas on these two problems? ???

I have had various printing issues with EVO. I now use the Post Script driver on our HP8000N and all problems went away. I am also on the 6-20-05 updates.

I have had some irritating printing problems as well. In my case, sometimes packing slips get printed with the line item information garbled. What is really interesting is that with Classic, if you printed two packing slips, both were hosed. With EVO-ERP, the first one is hosed, but the second one prints fine. The only way to clear the problem is to reboot the workstation. I have also had instances when posting invoices and printing the COGS and commissions reports that the commission report is also garbled.
I have a LJ4 with a PostScript module (not HP's), but the HP driver for Win98 doesn't play nice with it. I guess I could haul out an old dot-matrix....

Hey,

Interesting on the PS driver. We pretty much use the PCL, since the PS doesn't play well with other apps. It's a real pain in the patooty for users to have to remember to change the driver just to print something...not a good solution.
I can certainly try using the PS driver, but I know I have most on the PCL driver because we had problems previously with the PS drivers (we use HP8000, HP5000 and HP4050 laserjets with Windows 2000 and Windows XP sp1).

Any other grand ideas?
