Title: SO-A Sales Order Incrementing Post by tgoodson on 08/29/05 at 04:37:37 I noticed this morning while entering in Sales Orders that the SO-A seems to be incrementing the SO number whether a Sales Order is saved or not. I made a mistake while entering one and exited out of it without saving it. When I entered it in again, I noticed that the Sales Order number had been incremented. It does not look like it affected the actual quantities by duplicating them, so that is good. I would have thought that a Sales Order number would not be incremented until the Sales Order is saved. Can anyone else confirm this? Thanks, Tommy |
Title: Re: SO-A Sales Order Incrementing Post by Lynn Pantic on 08/29/05 at 20:23:38 The SO Number gets pulled when you move from the header to the line item screen so if you exit while still in the header, it won't pull a number but once you are in the line item screen, the number has been pulled. |

Title: Re: SO-A Sales Order Incrementing Post by Cyndee Pappas on 08/30/05 at 08:53:10 I think it has to be this way because the header info is in one file and the line items in another. The SO # is what ties them together. That being said, you can reuse the same SO # by manually entering it into your next sales order. You will get a prompt saying "the SO # doesn't exist. Would you like to use it for a new SO?" Say yes. |
Title: Re: SO-A Sales Order Incrementing Post by tgoodson on 08/30/05 at 10:22:22 Thank you Cyndee. That is what I did. It just seemed to me that it should be updating on Save instead. I understand what you are saying and can see how it probably would have to be done that way. Thanks for the information. |
