Title: Receipt going to Clearing Account Post by David Waldmann on 09/30/05 at 06:40:20 I just did three receipts for the same class of item (for the first time since installing to the 9/25 update). Two went fine and one went to the clearing account. I've rec'd this item many times before with no problem. Any ideas? |
Title: Re: Receipt going to Clearing Account Post by lmk223a on 09/30/05 at 08:14:32 We have not yet installed the 9/25 update, but I have had occurrences of received items charging 99999, though very rare. It is a result of the item's inventory class setup - refer to SM-C for defaults. Because according to the Help File, if any GL account is left blank, the system reverts to the clearing account 99999. To fix, I correct the SM-C class that is in error and just edit the GL Batch in GL-P. Linda |
Title: Re: Receipt going to Clearing Account Post by David Waldmann on 09/30/05 at 10:18:48 There are both system defaults and class-specific GL accounts specified. And all three items were the same class. And I have received this particular item hundreds of time before and there are no changes that I'm aware of. |
Title: Re: Receipt going to Clearing Account Post by cathyh on 09/30/05 at 11:28:36 I haven't done the new update yet but I know there is now the ability to change the gl account in PO-A. Did a GL account get entered incorrectly when the PO was entered? |
Title: Re: Receipt going to Clearing Account Post by Lynn Pantic on 09/30/05 at 14:39:50 A "fat finger" entry into the GL Department can also cause this. |
Title: Re: Receipt going to Clearing Account Post by David Waldmann on 10/03/05 at 10:25:10 Maybe. Don't you have to put a valid GL or Dept in? The person who enters POs wouldn't think to enter a GL Acct, and we don't have Depts.... Anyways, if that was it, it won't happen again as I turned it off. I guess we'll see if it happens again. |

Yes, this is another cause. We changed PO Defaults in SD-C to NO for allowing entry to GL Dept. This cures those fat fingers or longer fingernail tips. |
