How do we keep the second Line descriptions from printing
on Invoices for Items that have already shipped??

The Invoices that print with all these extra lines on them
look terrible.

modify the invoice "rtm" form by setting the additional lines to "not visible". Then rename the "rtm" and use it for reprints.

Wouldn't this also kill them on Items that are being shipped?

I didn't want to kill them ALL the time, I just don't want them
printing if the item they are attached too has already shipped
(qty remaining = 0)

I've looked a little deeper, it looks like when an item gets
invoiced out, it's shipped and backorded quantities go to zero.

When this happens, the second description line associated
with the item kind of becomes a free floating comment line
instead of a second description line.

During invoicing, could this line somehow be tagged that
it was a second description line on an item that has already
been invoiced so that it does not get re-selected accidently?

Maybe the RTI on that line item could be changed to I for Invoiced
when the line has been completely shipped or a flag could
be stored in the line number field. The line number field is already
being used for Kit and Options flags anyway.

We never have the kind of problem that you are having. Sounds like someone is releasing lines that shouldn't be. Look at how the 6 questions in the upper right hand corner of SO-E are being answered. We always answer, no, to the first question, and do not auto release comments.

You might also try checking how you answer the questions when printing invoices. We have found that by answering No to Print Comment Lines in SO-F, then we still get the second description line for items that have been released, but not for already shipped items. If we answer Yes, then we get the second description lines for all items on the order.
