Title: SO-N convert sales orders to work orders
Post by DSWAZE on 11/22/05 at 09:12:49

I am using DBA classic, since 2001. Just recently moved all files from one hard drive to another. Since then, whenever I create a work order in SO-N, the start date is the same as the end. I never had this problem until I moved the files.

Note - I use inventory lead time for start date - and have in the past with no problem

Regards,
Doreen

I am having a problem with converting SO to WO's. I had a Sales Order entered in for 20 units. I then selected SO-N to convert that to a Work Order. Since our products have several levels in the BOM, the need to Create Mult-assembly WO's. I have it set to prompt for WO qty. I went through and entered all information for the 20 pcs. and all looked good. Then it began all over again asking me about the 20pc qty and before I could realize what was going on, I had created WO's for 60pcs. I then had to cancel them all, purge them, and then re-enter...carefully. I am using the latest 11/18/05 update and just loaded it yesterday. Has anyone else had any problems with this or any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tommy

SO-N was one of the files that was patched and I just tried it and got only the desired Work Order(s).  What is the modified date of your BKSON.RUN?

I haven't figured out a pattern yet, but several times since the update SO-N has tried to make a WO twice for the same line item and I had to cancel it. BKSON date is 11/29/05.

David - I just sent you an updated SO-N - please let me know if the problem persists and, if it does, if you see a pattern.

Lynn,

My BKSON.RUN file is dated the same as David's   11/29/2005. If you could send me the file or patch, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Tommy

Unfortunately, David reports that it still has problems, we are looking into it and will get you a fix as soon as we can.

My sales order to wo is doing all sorts of strange things.

when it is doing the conversion part 2 multiassembly is sits on the last screen forever

I hit enter thru the screen again and it exits

not all the items on the SO generated workorders

EVO 11-18-05

also Ive seen this
posted from the  MFG forum
maybe its related

when converting so to wo  multi level with manual set qty

The system generates wo's with 0 qty's when I tell it to make 0 qty.   It didnt always do this.  I would like it to not generate 0 qty workorders

so I manually cancel all the 0 qty workorders  more work

link printing is only about 50-50  usually when doing  a batch it screws up and skips many parts

printing links for a range of workorders prints wo-K-I prints links for canceled workorders.

and if you print a range from 12345-0 to 12345-0
I get no links printed

if this could be fixed it would be a good thing.

We too are having problems with converting SO to WO.   After entering in the date that the order should start on, we press enter and then EVO goes back to the main menu.  No work order is converted.  This appears random, but we cannot convert several SO's for some reason.

This used to work fine...HELP

That is what happens when nothing on the SO is made in-house (type A or F). It faults out when trying to make a WO for a type R or S or whatever, but it gives no message about why it has abandonned the conversion process.

I am also having problems. It won't create wo for A type parts. The parent part gets converted then stops.
Any help would be appreciated
