Title: ERROR when loggin on certain workstation
Post by cathyh on 12/06/05 at 09:49:00

I have a work station that can't  open Evo after the 11/18 update.  She gets an error box right during the first (or second if you count the too fast to see one) splash screen, before the login box comes up.  The error says:
ADdsum TAS Premier 7i
List index out of bounds (3)
Help!  This person needs Evo!

We seem to be getting alot of access violations since the update-  alot of them (maybe all) have this same header- Adsum TAS Premier 7i.

I also see a ton of access violations. They will happen on every field when entering a customer, Vendor, Part # or any other enter screen and you try to mouse click into a field instead of entering through every field. It doesn't seem to affect or crash anything though!

I did finally notice earlier today that the person getting these was trying to go to a field with a mouse click.  I was able to duplicate this.  So my admonishment to always enter to the field you want to change has teeth now-  a big bad error message!!

PS- I fixed the workstation that couldn't log on by going to the DBA folder on the server and opening evo as if I was setting up the workstation.  It worked, and when I closed Evo and opened with the evo local icon, it worked.  Don't know what I fixed though!

I know what you fixed...

There was a new EXE released (EVO ONLY), it for the most part cleaned up some memory issues, and added new features. But as some of you have seen it has reeked havoc with the ESC key, and now this mouse click. We are working as fast as we can to clean these issues up, so if you find them please let us know (just ESC issues the mouse click is all over so we don't need to know where you find those).

So we have a new EXE that you all got it in the update, but that was installed on the server when you did the update. It needed a way to get to the local C:\ISTS folder for all users. So I came up with the menu checking dates on the servers exe vs. the C:\ISTS folder and copying in the latest versions if needed.  There are two EXE's EVOERP.EXE and Tp7runtime.exe if you get the OUT OF BOUNDS 3 error it means it copied one of the files but not both. When you went back and ran the workstation set-up, it copied both files to the c:\ists folder.

Would it be a good idea to do this on all my workstations?

No not really, if it was not right, they would all be getting the out of bounds error.

It would not hurt anything, but may just be a wast of time to go from PC to PC running workstation setup againg if it is not needed.

I notice when I am  printing custom GL Statements GL-N that when I have selected the columns I want and hit
ESC to run the report, I have to hit ENTER also to get out of the column selection.  Used to be just ESC would take you down to the bottom of the report to set thje rest of the parameters for the report.
