when trying to post batches, DBA says our purchasing batch is unbalanced. however, it only shows that message when we put a start date in the 'date-entered' range. if we leave it at 00/00/00 then the purchases are balanced.
ive looked at the out-of-balance report, but there is nothing there.
is this simply a glitch? or am i missing something?? ???

any help would be greatfully appreciated, as we need to print out financial reports very soon.

Perhaps there is a transaction outside of your date parameters, i.e. dated for a prior or future accounting period.

Did you try GL-P and search the unposted batches by date?

yes, i checked it, there's nothing there though.

is there any other way i can work out what is going on?

Sounds like the posting date is fine, just the Entered Date. Use GL-C and print out the unposted transactions and you should be able to find it, then you can edit the Entry date in GL-P once you know which transaction.
