Title: Vacation Accrual Post by kevind on 12/22/05 at 11:10:28 I am using DBA Classic, and accruing vacation on a yearly basis. Under Accrual Hours do I put the number of hours for the year (ie 160)? This would also be the same number the would go into the limit also wouldn't it? And if I put 1-1-06 for the next accrual date, will it add the hours into the hours due on 1-1-06 or will it add it the next time I run payroll? |
Title: Re: Vacation Accrual Post by RAGINE on 12/22/05 at 12:39:00 The accrual hours are what the employee would receive for the year. The limit is what the employee is allowed for the year. I think you have to run a payroll before it will move the 160 hours to the hours due. I have noticed that for example when an employee has no hours due until 1/1/06 and I run payroll on 1/7/06 and they have taken 8 hours of vacation in that pay period, DBA will alert you that they have no vacation hours due and do you still want to apply vacation time? If you say yes, then when you print the check it will show 152 hours due. |
Title: Re: Vacation Accrual Post by David Waldmann on 01/04/06 at 06:14:16 My understanding was that the limit was independant of the yearly amount, so that you could allow accumulation of more than one year's worth of vacation. A lot of companies do that, though we don't, so I can't confirm that DBA works that way or not. So the answer depends on your policy. |
Title: Re: Vacation Accrual Post by RAGINE on 01/04/06 at 07:18:14 It is independent, I leave the limit as zero for all employees as we are allowed to carry over all of our vacation from year to year with no limit. I'm due over 200 hours, maybe someday............ |
