Title: Hard to get responses Post by TFay on 12/30/05 at 04:39:19 I don't know if the old adage holds true that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but I am confused as to how the forum works. Should I expect to get a response from ISTECH when I post a question or is it a random decision on your end as to when to respond or not. I really have a problem with Inventory locations that I have posted two topics in the Item category. I am really just interested in finding out if this is recognized as a problem and if there are any potential solutions to the problem. I can see that my topics have been read many times but no direct responses to the issue from ISTECH. Just would like to know what the standard protocal is here. |
Title: Re: Hard to get responses Post by JNAPIER on 12/30/05 at 06:38:26 As with any Software, different setups, confiqurations and use can have different results. I have had my fair share of problems that others could not duplicate. It is hard to suggest a solution if you have not seen the problem or can't duplicate it. I try and respond to posts that I can be of some help. I have been using this program for almost eight years and have had to fiqure it out and find my own solutions to issues. Since the creation of this forum and ISTS team taking over support, it is a great resource to us all. I know in my experience with other software, you spend many thousands of dollars more and never get the rapid response to issues or known bugs as you do get with ISTS. I wish I could be of some help with your issues, but I have not experianced it with our system. John |
Title: Re: Hard to get responses Post by Tim Keating on 12/30/05 at 07:22:51 It is a public forum that is moderated by the IS Tech support staff. It is not free tech support. Many users are "IS Tech Paid Subscribers" who subscribe to an IS Tech support plan on a monthly basis. Plans go as low as $35. We've found paid support to be a worthwhile investment considering the cost of owning and operating other manufacturing software packages. |
Title: Re: Hard to get responses Post by RAGINE on 12/30/05 at 07:53:59 We dish out the $35 per month and it is well worth it. Last year I had a problem with 1099-div forms and Lynn called me at work and walked me through the process of modifying the form. I've had a few posts that no one responded to, but as JNAPIER put it: "It is hard to suggest a solution if you have not seen the problem or can't duplicate it." |
Title: Re: Hard to get responses Post by RAGINE on 12/30/05 at 07:56:07 How come it doesn't say ISTECH PAID SUBSCRIBER under my name :'( |
Title: Re: Hard to get responses Post by TFay on 12/30/05 at 11:16:35 Good feedback, we are an ISTECH paid subscriber also even though it is not indicated on the forum as such. Thing is even though the cause of the problem might be hard to determine I would think someone might be able to tell me how to fix the issue with the 85 inventory items that now have two blank(default) locations. Maybe a reconciliation might work. |
Title: Re: Hard to get responses Post by JNAPIER on 12/30/05 at 11:26:57 What I always do when I am searching for resolution is to make a new TEST company from your current file set. Than you can try anything you choose and can verify the results. Be carefull to really look deep into the results of your efforts as other things are sometimes affected that you do not realize. Than go for it!!! John |
Title: Re: Hard to get responses Post by Karen Mason on 01/02/06 at 13:56:09 On the forum, sometimes there is a reply from ISTECh and sometimes not. If you absolutely need to resolve a problem, then you might need to do email/phone support. (Go to the services tab) I'm not sure how the email support works at the bronze level ($35), we are one level up at the silver support. I get pretty good email response on specific issues although sometimes I do have to email a 2nd time. Not sure if it's in email neverland or what. |
