Title: Service Module Post by PatP on 01/11/06 at 11:39:52 Does any one use the Service Module? 1. What is your experience with it? 2. Are you satisfied with the operation? How does pricing work? The system asks for a price from the Inventory price matrix. Where is that? I think this is a very important module but needs some additions including: 1. Item being repaired I think itemid and serail needs to go someplace but not on a line. That’s where the repair items need to go. I think we need a field for the itemid and serial so we can report and sort on it. 2. RMA processing 3. Reporting Need Sales report like SAB Need serial number history tracking Need Repair History by item and group 4. All serialized Items should go directly into the system when produced. In this way the system knows who and where we shipped the item. And that location information needs to be changeable. Please add other thoughts |

In fact when we try to use it to track the parts repaired it says that the serial number has been returned to stock when we print the report from SC-D. This is because the program will close out the Service/Repair work order (essentially returning it to stock) but doesnt properly acknowledge that the repaired part is being sent out when it is invoiced. We are not at all satisfied with the way this works. We had hoped to get the serial tracking up and running but are unable because we would like to be able to utilize the service/repair module and do not want to have to re-write the procedure when it finally does work. The RMA processing is contained in the SO module. Are you wanting it to be part of the Service/Repair Module instead? To the best of my knowledge the RMA portion works fine for us. You wrote: 3. I have been in contact with Lynn for months regarding this with unfortunately still no solution. So any ideas you have on improving it should probably be forwarded directly to Lynn since I know she is working on it. |
