Title: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by Kelloggs on 01/26/06 at 15:08:53 We just installed Norton Antivirus 2006 on a couple of computers. Every time we try to load DBA, it complete freezes. We have disable auto protect, exclude the entire F:\DBAMFG , exclude *.RUN, but the problem continues. Does anyone on the forum has experience this problem? Regards, Kelloggs |
Title: Re: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by Lenette on 01/27/06 at 10:06:28 i posted under another thread ... that since the last update (1/12/06) we have been slower than normal. I also excluded the dbamfg folder as well as the *.run files ... it helped some. |
Title: Re: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by NovaZyg on 01/27/06 at 10:24:55 you also need to exclude the C:\ISTS\evoerp.exe and tp7runtime.exe files. That will help too. |
Title: Re: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by Lenette on 01/27/06 at 11:14:57 Seems like all the icons flash in & out on the top right section of the window. for example: when entering a PO the icons flash everytime you advance from field to field. |
Title: Re: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by Lynn Pantic on 01/27/06 at 17:55:58 If the toolbar is turned on, the icons are also in your C:\ISTS folder. If the Norton is scanning them every time too, exclude the ICO files in the ISTS folder. That will speed up the screen refresh. |
Title: Re: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by Lenette on 01/28/06 at 11:03:23 I excluded the entire C:\ISTS folder.... but will also exclude the icons. |
Title: Re: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by shadowcaster on 03/15/06 at 16:18:16 I just took norton off my machine and installed AVG FREE. That, and going to an all TCPip protocall and 1g nic cards speeded up things a lot. J dub |
Title: Re: Norton Antivirus 2006 Post by David Waldmann on 03/16/06 at 09:45:43 We've dumped Norton as well and have noticed improvements. We're using Panda - the Webadmin is great - you can set up profiles online and everyone assigned to that profile will be updated any time you make a change to it (like adding C:\ISTS to the ignore list). We're only a small company and it's worth it even to us to have the centralized admin. Can't imagine a place with 50 or 100 stations to keep updated. |
