Title: Multiple Reps on same account
Post by Karen Mason on 02/09/06 at 07:51:48

I am trying to have my people record conversations with vendors, customers, etc.  We are using the History file, but in the case of Customers, we cannot change the "rep" so that we print out a list of various contacts a particular person has made.  Sometimes there are collection calls, sometimes there are general sales calls, sometimes there are calls regarding quotes, etc.  The person who is set as the "rep" cannot be changed to reflect a different person.  Any ideas on how to accomplish my task?

We use Contact Manager.  When you use the History in CM it allows you to Enter a Contact, change the date, change the Rep and put in a code. We have various codes to put calls into groups, for example PD is for Collection calls. We can then print Account History CM-B-F and filter by that code.

Hope that helps

hmm, I wonder what setting I need to change to change the rep code.  It allows us to enter a different rep code, but as soon as we access the "history" button we get a message, you are not authorized....

In SM-I-I all the reps have "Y" in:
-Allow others to View this reps records
-Allow others to Change this reps records
-Allow Changes, but warn
-Allow others to Add records for this rep

Yes, I have changed all the settings to yes.  However, when we go in to log a call by a different rep, when the white screen comes up to edit/add a call, it retains the old rep and there is no access to that field to change it.  Even when we change the rep code on the main screen, it does not change the rep code in the history screen.
