Title: Copy Routings
Post by tdlugosh on 02/24/06 at 13:06:37

I was under the impression that you weren't supposed to be able to enter routings for some of the Part Types (such as K & R) and haven't been able to enter routings directly into thos part types.  WhenI had an assistant copy routings into a long list of parts I forgot to tell her that.  When she was done I asked her about it and she said she was able to copy a routing into every last item.  She there upon showed me how she did it and looked at the routing (from the copy window) and, sure enough, the routing was there.  I tried to bring up the routing from the Enter Routing program and it correctly told me that a routing couldn't be enter for the part type selected.

My questions are:  What actually happened when she copied the routings into the wrong part types and is there someting that needs to be done about cleaning up those part types?

I find that if I take an "A" type item with a routing and change it to a B type when I roll the cost it still adds in the routing cost.

I must then change the item tback to an A
delete the routing
then change it to a B

to get the cost correct

I had a similar problem changing an R type part to A. Had to change it back to R to take the "This level costs" out of standard cost because it was adding it to the new rolled up cost.
