Title: Cascading windows
Post by deburr on 03/11/06 at 05:58:16

The main reason for us to transition to Evo is to be able to work with multiple windows without the crashes of regular DBA. The problem for me is, I can not get the windows in Evo to behave like they do in DBA (which works very nice.) How do I make the windows cascade with the active window on top and all the other window title bars visible ia a cascade to make switching from window to window like DBA?

Thanks,
Steve

It works here. Well, I think so. I don't remember how Classic works because the number of times I tried to have more than one window open at a time was like maybe three.

You can't use Alt+Tab to switch between them if that's what you mean. But you can (manually, not through Windoze) cascade the windows and switch between them by clicking the one you want with the mouse. Unless your window size is too large for your screen and you just can't fit more than one?

Thanks for the reply Dave. I can cascade the windows by right clicking on the task bar and selecting cascade. then when I click on a window that may be two or three positions behind, it will come to the front but the screen position does not change. This means it is blocking the title bars on the windows it came behind from. Unless you can memorize which window was where, and providing you can click an edge of that window, it makes it difficult to navigate. In Classic, the windows shift position as they move forward and all re-cascade so all title bars are viewable all the time. There must be a way to accomplish the same in evo.

You just have to arrange them differently than Windoze does - lower left to upper right. I sent you a screen shot.
