Title: Importing Chart of Accounts Post by Keith on 04/12/06 at 08:33:01 I am trying to import a chart of accounts into a new company - basically exported COA from an existing Co, editing it and then importing. All I want is CODE, Descrip, Type & Non-Cash fields. When I run an error check (with errors only) all account codes are listed with no other information and the file will not import. Am I missing required fields? Can anyone else duplicate this? Keith |
Title: Re: Importing Chart of Accounts Post by Lynn Pantic on 04/12/06 at 08:52:00 Code and Type should be all you need. Even Description is technically optional. You are using numbers or upper case text for the Code and upper case A, L, O, I and E for the types? |
Title: Re: Importing Chart of Accounts Post by Keith on 04/12/06 at 09:52:43 Codes are numbers and types are upper case letters. I am really not changing anything, just deleting A/C's I don't want. Like I said I exported COA and tried importing the export as is and it still didn't work. I am using a Comma Delimited file and using only the first column representing the corresponding spreadsheet column. Correct? |
