Accounting assistant accidently entered a date of 06/18/06 for invoices to be posted on 04/18/06. Before they were posted in the GL, we went to GL-P and corrected the date on all the transactions showing. It seems to have posted correctly in the GL, but none of the invoices are appearing on the AR Aging report. How can we correct this problem so the invoices will appear on the aging and on statements if not paid?

You'll have to go into maintain database. I think the correct file to edit for the aging is BKARINVT. You'll also want to check and correct BKARINV and BKARHINV.

As well as the inventory files, Sales commissions, serial history and ? When invoices are posted, a ton of files are written to. If you void the invoice using the date on the original you will reverse all the transactions with the bad date. You will need to GL-P the entries that you have already changed to the date you used before.

Thanks for your information. I went into Maintain Database and corrected all the items. They now appear in A/R for each customer but DO NOT appear in the aging? Anyway to find our which file is for the aging?

In the BKARINVT file, there is a field for the date and also one for date opened and closed. Did you check the one for the open date?

John's point above is well taken. We don't use anything like lot control, serial control, commissions, etc. so I can't comment there. But you may also want to check INVTXN.

Also the BKART file which uses a really convoluted logic to link together invoices and payments. Voiding would have been a much better approach but too late now.
