Title: Serial # unavailable after transfer Post by GasGiant on 06/05/06 at 06:14:55 After we transfer serialized items from one location to another, the serial number is "not available" for material issue (WO-I) or for sale (SO-E). The only work-around I have found is to delete the record of the serial number from the original location in TAS-D. One more bit of info: one of the locations to which the items are being transferred is classified type "S", but the other is an inventory location. Is the location of the WO or SO considered (properly) during the retrieval of the serial number? Or is the logic looking only for the first table entry for that serial number regardless of the location? |
Title: Re: Serial # unavailable after transfer Post by JNAPIER on 06/05/06 at 06:25:19 When you do the transfer, does it prompt you to pick the serials to transfer? We transfer serialized units all the time either as a batch or individual and they are always available by serial #. I did have issues after using the consolidate inventory locations. After doing that, the serials got screwed? I set our locations before you could choose a type. All my locations have a blank in that field. John |
Title: Re: Serial # unavailable after transfer Post by GasGiant on 06/05/06 at 06:51:24 Transferring gives us a pop-up list and that is working fine. I can transfer into and out of any number of locations. However, once I have transferred serialized items out of our primary/default location I am not able to consume them. The number appears in the look-up list (F2) and can be chosen, but when the program tries to make the transaction we get a pop-up telling us that the serial number is not available (as if it is reading zero for that location). |
Title: Re: Serial # unavailable after transfer Post by GasGiant on 06/19/06 at 07:37:29 This problem persists. Is anyone else seeing the same thing? At this point I can't do work orders or sales orders for serialized items from the location to which I have moved the serialized parts. |
