Title: Crystal Reports-Any regrets or totally worh it??

We are toying with the idea of purchasing Crystal Reports. I am hoping that those of you that use it would give feedback on it.

It looks tricky to set up and time consuming to create the reports but with so many of you using it the benefits must out weigh the costs.

Thanks in advance for your imput!  ;D

Gina,

It's well worth it.  There's a bit of a learning curve to get started, but once you've done a few reports, you'll really get into using it.  It allows you to analyze your data in EvoERP in a way some of the reports just cannot do.  It's a good business analysis tool.  You can also create reports to distribute to others who only need to run them, not write them, which is nice.

My 2 cents.

Val

In my opinion it is a MUST have. Once you understand the basics, you can create some very useful reports. When you get real creative with it's formulas, formating, graphs and charts, you get really professional looking reports.

I just created a report that bacame a price list for all my customers that have contract pricing. One thing CR allowed me to do is make the quantity breaks understandable. I still have to think about the way DBA does it. Being able to present to the customer:

100' - 2.00
200' - 1.90
300' - 1.80
500' - 1.75

instead of:

99' - 99,000.00
199' - 2.00
299' - 1.90
499' - 1.80
500' - 1.75

is absolutely indispensible, IMO.

GET IT!!!

I would use MS Access

It is not only a report tool; it is also a design and management application.

We have a Shipping App, that not only print the Packing List, but keeps track of many oder information that cannt be track on DBA: shipments, back orders, customer parts, cust backorder, etc etc

My question was going to be how does it compare with Access?  We have already invested a lot in Access and I would hate to abandon it.
