Title: installing workstation Post by deburr on 08/02/06 at 04:51:51 I installed pervasive and dba classic on a new workstation and works well, but I cannot get Evo working. Tried running evoerp.exe but get a fatal error - Data dictionary file could not be opened: c:\dbamfg\fileloc.dbf. What do I do to fix this? |

Title: Re: installing workstation Post by dameng on 08/08/06 at 14:47:00 confusing. did you install the Entire Program on the Local Computer? i.e. Pervasive workgroup engine, and DBA Classic? such that there is a DBAMFG folder on your local C: drive? or was this a new workstation, that is supposed to be connecting to A DIFFERENT computer (maybe server) where the Actual DBAMFG or EVOERP folder and data actually resides? if the Latter, then you only need a Mapped drive to the Main computer DBAMFG folder. then run the evoerp.exe to initiate the evo setup. and install the Pervasive CLIENT ( not workgroup). if you have problems still starting , copy the ISTS folder from another computer, and copy locally to this one. make sure this computer has the same Mapped drive to the Main(dbamfg) computer. then fire up evo. go to TAS menu and rerun the workstation setup. |
Title: Re: installing workstation Post by deburr on 08/21/06 at 13:04:05 Everything is installed on the server and then ran set the setup programs from the workstation and installed pervasive on the workstation. The problem was running evoerp from the workstation, I would get an error "could not open c:\dbamfg\datadictionary...fileloc.dbf" or something like that. With your help (copied the ISTS folder from another computer) and a little more trial and error, I found I could run evoerpsetup.exe which opened a window where I could set the default and initial file paths, and that allowed me to continue completing the setup on the workstation. All set now. Thanks. |
