Title: august patch install error Post by martin572 on 08/29/06 at 16:47:59 I have tried to install the latest dba patch update(august) and once it get's half way through converting the data dictionary files I get a access violation message and the program just stops. I am currently on the 5/14/05 patch and am using DBA classic. We have a server/client work station set-up. Our server is running windows nt sp6a with pervasive 8.5 sp2 and our work stations are windows 98, 2000 and xp pro. We also have 40 users. I thought that it might be one of the work stations so I tried another windows xp work station and disabled the anitvirus software and still got the same error. I also tried to force the update by checking the box and still no change. I am trying to get this patch updated so that I can try the evo software before my licence runs out. Any help would be greatly appreciated ??? |
Title: Re: august patch install error Post by Lynn Pantic on 08/29/06 at 17:13:27 Steve, I will call you tomorrow, I suspect the DBA Classic Data Dictionaries have some internal corruption or something that has to be cleaned up. Onc we determine the solution, I will post it so it is available for others. |
Title: Re: august patch install error Post by martin572 on 08/31/06 at 19:08:56 Lynn, I did as you suggested and installed the patch again to see what files during the forced update it errored on and here is what I got for information. when I selected a forced update on all files the install program crashed at file bkappo.b99 and after a second install attempt I got an error at bklugrid.b file. The error that I got was access violation at address 00402df6 in module evoerp.exe write of address 026ffffd. The second time I got the same error except the address was different. Again seem to be the same problem on two different machines. any ideas??? ??? It seems that I am not the only issue. Lynn what is the solution to this problem. |
Title: Re: august patch install error Post by rlevasseur on 09/18/06 at 15:58:40 Was there any answer to this hangup at BKLUGRID.B**? I have attempted to install the 8/11 update and receive the same exact error. "Access Violation at address 00402DF6 in module 'evoerp.exe'. Write of address 026BFFFD. I downloaded the update again and went thru the same process twice. Same results... On the third try I used force update and still same hang up and error. Rick |

Title: Re: august patch install error Post by martin572 on 11/27/06 at 17:34:01 Lynn, I tried to install the latest october patch and have gotten the same error as with the August patch. It also seems from other users they have gotten the same error. How do I fix this so that I can use the new features? |
Title: Re: august patch install error Post by Lynn_Pantic on 11/27/06 at 19:27:04 Couple of things to check (I can't duplicate the error but there are SO MANY system variables there is no way we can replicate all of them). 1. Make SURE that the server and all workstations are on the SAME version of Pervasive. It can be 2000, 7, 8 or 9 but they HAVE to match. 2. Load DBA Classic with no users in the system and click File - Check File Integrity. Do a Find Files for the Root DBAMFG folder as well as company subfolders (DBAMFG\DEFAULT and any others you may have created) and if any files are Pervasive 5 or 5.1 format, reindex them at UT-C or use the Pervasive Rebuild utility. |
Title: Re: august patch install error Post by martin572 on 12/29/06 at 14:08:59 Lynn, I verified that everybody was on the same pervasive(Version 8.5 sp2) and that all the index files were to 7.1. I still get the error and I would say that others seem to be having the same issue. What can I do next. :( |
