Title: Workstation install - All users must logout Post by bwesson on 09/27/06 at 09:44:37 I'm not able to install EVO on a XP workstation. Usually, I have run evoerp.exe from the network share and it recognizes that EVO is not installed on the workstation and proceeds to copy the files to the c:\ drive. This is not happening. Error message says I need to loggout all users before upgrading. Some INI or RWN file seems to be in control and I have no idea which file to modify or delete. Thanks for any ideas. --Bill Wesson |

Title: Re: Workstation install - All users must logout Post by bwesson on 09/27/06 at 15:29:30 Reboot the server? All the other users can work in EVO. Their logins work. What file do you think is hung open? I could start and stop the pervasive services. That'll close any open files. Thanks, --Bill |

Existing users are not affected in logging in with a hung file. If you are on EVO and log in as ADMIN, you can logout all users and not allow logins. A workstation install is not an upgrade and having users logged in should have no effect on it. Are you upgrading your EVO install? John |
Title: Re: Workstation install - All users must logout Post by Lynn Pantic on 09/28/06 at 07:22:54 The TASPRO7.INI file in DBAMFG should be calling EVOWKSSETUP.RWN as the Defaut Program and it sounds like it has gotten changed and is calling EVOERPUPD.RWN. You need to edit the INI file. |
Title: Re: Workstation install - All users must logout Post by bwesson on 09/28/06 at 09:55:48 That worked Lynn. Thanks. |
