Title: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/12/06 at 11:11:04 Each time we log into Evo, we have to change company and select size (we like toolbar). Selections aren't retained with user login. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by cathyh on 10/12/06 at 12:06:16 There are settings in UT-E of TAS-C for these- the first tab, General, has a place at the bottom for start up company- make sure you use the format "Bxx" where "xx" is company code. On the User Options tab, there is a display size setting. These settings are done at each workstation. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/12/06 at 12:28:17 ...but it's not working here. Yes, the company code is set there, but it isn't selecting a company. By size I mean the background size, set in Tools/Size, not the individual module size. The module window size selection is working. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by David Waldmann on 10/12/06 at 12:28:27 "Remembering" of the windowed size of Evo (such as in toolbar form - we use that as well) is only available since one of the recent updates, possibly even the last one. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/12/06 at 12:51:48 Our config: 8/11/06 update Pervasive 9.5 peer-to-peer All stations WinXPsp2 OK, guys, any more guesses? |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by cathyh on 10/12/06 at 13:31:27 nope.. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/17/06 at 12:43:48 Still no idea here...sure would like to get this working before the new Evo release... |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by cathyh on 10/18/06 at 15:28:28 I just came across a setting in the IS Tech Defaults SD-Q that the help file says: Maximize Evo Menu Screen on Start If this is set to N then each time you load Evo-ERP, it will remember the menu size saved at the last exit. If it is blank or Y then the screen will always be maximized to full screen. You could try changing this. As for the company on startup- under PS menu there are the old classic settings for users and the system users and Passwords screen PS-A has a place for startup company. I would check these settings. That would be the last of my guesses. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/19/06 at 06:50:08 Halfway there! Setting "Maximize Evo Menu Screen on Start" = N did allow Evo to open as just a toolbar. Still no luck on startup company...PS-A already has the default as blank, which is correct. We're trying to open the default B company. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by cathyh on 10/19/06 at 06:59:46 what exactly do you have in your Evo startup field? |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/19/06 at 07:55:40 It's blank. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by cathyh on 10/19/06 at 08:27:49 I think it should be B. I know for starting up in a configured company, it needs to be "Bxx" where xx is the company code. So I am assuming that since with the default company the xx is blank, the startup code needs to be just B. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/19/06 at 09:56:26 Don't think so. Here, if you enter B, you get an error message. None of this is made clear in the help files... |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by cathyh on 10/19/06 at 11:13:29 We do our company differently here, it has a 2 digit company code, and the default company (B)has nothing but system data in it. But I did try here to put in a "B and a"B " and it let me do both. It did not take me to the default company though, and neither did the entry of my test company, BT6, take me to the test company on startup. In fact it does not seem to matter what I put in there, even an invalid company code or nothing! That leads me to believe that something is set up on the local ISTS folder that, even when you change the startup company code, is not changing after initial setup. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/19/06 at 11:24:58 That file would be taspro7.ini, I'd think. Here's the first part of ours: [Setup] DataDictPath=K:\DBAMFG\ DfltCompanyCode=B DfltRunPrg=K:\DBAMFG\EvoERPmenu.rwn MultiUser=1 MainMenu=1 FullSetup=1 DefaultPath=K:\DBAMFG\ Titlebar=Evo ~ ERP ...so the company should be B, which is correct. It just doesn't work...grrrr |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/20/06 at 13:09:45 I just deleted the B03 company, leaving just the real B company. Still have to select a company to make Evo work, even though the correct company is shown in the status bar. I'm beginning to suspect the data dictionary. How to fix? |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/25/06 at 12:45:54 Only one company now. If I start Evo and select Change Company, I get message "There is only one company in the data directory" and everything then works fine. If I don't start by selecting Change Company, when I try to start a module the program hangs with error System error. Code: 1400 Invalid window handle I then have to reboot to use Evo again. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Lynn Pantic on 10/25/06 at 13:35:37 You didn't say you were getting Error 1400. It sounded like you were starting in the wrong company. Use REGEDIT and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, and delete the ADDSUM key. Load Evo but do not try to do anything. Just load the menu and then close it. Then go back in and see if you can get into the programs without clicking Change Company. |
Title: Re: Company and size won't stick with user Post by Mike_Habich on 10/26/06 at 06:25:42 Still hangs, but now without displaying error message. |
