Title: Problems with releasing a kit item Post by kevind on 12/07/06 at 09:54:30 Has anyone experienced a problem with releasing a SO with a Kit item on it?? I don't know when this broke, because we have been using kit items for some time now. When I try and release the kit item, the end result is that the kit item number Ship and back-order qty's get set to zero. If I go in and modify the order to put the numbers back, it asks if I want to change the original order qty (1.00)?. If I say yes, it sets the Original qty to 2!!! It ADDS the qty 1 that I just put back in to the previous 1 and puts 2.00 in the Original Order Qty!! I am now on ISTECH release 8/11/06. ---------------------------------- NOTE: This complaint has been moved to Repeatable Problems. ---------------------------------- |
Title: Re: Problems with releasing a kit item Post by kevind on 12/07/06 at 13:11:41 I just updated to 10/31/06. I still have the releasing problem. I've investigated this part some more and discovered that it is not a Kit, but, rather a Feature and Option Item. The main item is a type F with 4 features. Each feature has 2 or 4 options. After I enter the item into SO-A, a screen with the 4 features pops up. I select the second and forth features, Press F10, then select one of the options for the first feature, press ENTER through the item in the SO, then select one of the options for the second feature, and press enter through the SO. The initial F type item is out of stock, so during entry of that item, it moved the qty of 2 from the Ship field to the Back-ordered field. The items that make up the two options are F type items, and we have some of them in stock. These both entered into the order in the Ship field. From here, I went into release SO. I selected the F type item line and specified 2 to ship 0 back-ordered. It asks if I want to release this item number's options proportionally? and I answer NO since they are already released and have qty's in the Ship field. Now when I look at the order, the line I released has both ship and back-ordered qty's set to zero. I can not find a workaround that allows me to print a packing list to send this item out on. |
Title: Re: Problems with releasing a kit item Post by kevind on 12/13/06 at 12:03:37 Does anyone know of a work around for this? I can not seem to get a packing list to print with qty 2 to ship. New info: This seems to be a problem when the Item has not been turned into stock yet. If you have available stock, then it releases ok. There is still a problem with the logic that controls the Origonal Ordered qty. Whenever it asks if you want to change the Origonal qty, and you answer yes, it ADDS the new qty to the origonal qty. |

Title: Re: Problems with releasing a kit item Post by kevind on 12/13/06 at 14:58:26 I have searched for the option you refer too, but can only find the option to Calc BO on Available to Ship. (which does not work correctly as far as I'm concerned) If you could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated! |
Title: Re: Problems with releasing a kit item Post by Lynn_Pantic on 12/13/06 at 17:30:34 The Calc BO based on Available to Ship is a SO-A function, not SO-E so it will not affect releasing orders, but only order entry. It does, as far as I know, work as documented in SO-A. What do you think does not work correctrly, Kevin? As for releasing F&O items, there was a problem in SO-E related to the flag John referred to that I think has been fixed but perhaps since the 10/31 release. If that is the case, I will send it to you. |
